(2) metal filler metal filler can be made of a variety of materials, the choice of corrosion should be considered. Carbon steel filler low cost, and has a good surface wet function, no corrosion or low corrosive material system should be given priority to use; Stainless steel packing corrosion resistance, general ability in addition to Cl - common material system corrosion, but the cost is higher, and the surface wet function is poor, in some occasions (such as low spray density under the decompression distillation process), need to treat its surface, to achieve good use effect; Titanium, special alloy steel and other materials made of filler cost is very high, generally only in some corrosive material system under the application.

In general, metal filler can be made of thin-walled structure, its flux is large, gas resistance is small, and has a high impact resistance function, can be used in high temperature, high pressure, high impact strength, the use of a wide range of scale.

(3) plastic filler plastic filler material should include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), etc., the domestic general selection of polypropylene material. Plastic filler corrosion resistance function is good, can resist the general inorganic acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion. It has good temperature resistance and can be used below 100°C for a long time.

The plastic filler is light in weight, cheap in price, has good endurance, impact resistance, not easy to break, can be made into thin wall structure. Its flux is large, the pressure drops, is used in absorption, desorption, extraction, dust removal and other equipment. The disadvantage of plastic packing is that the surface wetting function is poor, but it can be improved by proper surface treatment.
